WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH NO SPACE TO SPARE?

A human-centered take on tiny interiors

In the Interior Design Studio, we zoom in on the micro scale, exploring how empathy shapes even the finest capillaries of our discipline for deeply human-centered interiors. In response to plastic pollution, we reimagined the Bozui (yurt) as a floating shelter for Bangladesh’s turmeric ceremonies. By adapting local customs to water-based living, we address overcrowding with empathy, a dignified space built from upcycled plastic bottles. The design fosters cultural continuity, addressing environmental limits, and redefining living standards where land is scarce. Through layouts, it offers room for ritual gatherings, uniting tradition and sustainability. By floating, we confront the lack of land, asking: ‘What to do when there’s no space?’ This challenge sparks both innovation and empathy.
